AFTER THE FIRE – WILDFLOWERS OF THE MEELUP REGIONAL PARK – EXCURSION THIS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24
In January 2022, a bushfire burnt a large section of the Meelup Regional Park north of Dunsborough.
Just 18 months later, the burnt areas are ablaze with colour as the native vegetation regrows and wildflowers make use of the extra sunlight and nutrients provided by the fire.
This Sunday September 24, the Busselton Naturalists Club is holding two wildflower walks through the Meelup Regional Park, with a special goal of looking for orchids and jewel beetles.
This is a self-drive excursion and participants need to meet at 10.00am in the main carpark at Meelup where both walks will start from.
The excursion is open to the public and is free of charge.
Bring morning and afternoon teas and a picnic lunch, plus chairs or a blanket to sit on at lunchtime.
