BIRDS OF THE BUNBURY AREA AND NATURE ARTIST SUE KALAB – BUS EXCURSION SUNDAY MAY 19
Bunbury is endowed with many excellent places to see birds – both bush birds and waterbirds.
On Sunday May 19, the Busselton Naturalists Club will be visiting at least three of these bird sites at Dalyellup, Australind and the Leschenault Inlet, where we should see a large number of birds from many different species.
With the first heavy rains of winter unlikely to occur prior to the excursion date, waterbirds in particular should be concentrated on the few remaining wetlands that still carry water, so now is an excellent time to view them.
We’ll also be visiting nature artists Sue Kalab at her studio in Bunbury where she has some of her beautiful wildlife and nature works on display.
A bus will leave Busselton at 9.00am from the car park next to the former visitor centre in Peel Terrace.
Seats on the bus need to be booked by contacting Club president Bernie Masters on 9727 2474 or by email to email@example.com
Cost of the day’s excursion is $15 and participants will need to bring their own picnic lunch as well as morning and afternoon tea and a folding chair.
Binoculars would be a useful additional item to bring with you but there will be spare pairs to pass around.
The excursion is being led by Bunbury local Graeme Hargans who knows many of the best birding sites around the Greater Bunbury area.
The excursion is open to the public and families are most welcome to take part.
