Thursday August 10 – Endangered Orchids of the South West Capes
Endangered Orchids of the Southwest Capes
The south west of WA is home to a wide variety of native orchids, many of which are rare or endangered.
At this Thursday’s meeting on August 10 of the Busselton Naturalists Club, Brian Trainer will show some of his quite spectacular images of a range of these threatened orchids.
For many years now, Brian has been fascinated by our native orchids and he has collected a large number of photographs of both common and rare species.
In addition, he has photographed some of the many insects which pollinate our native orchids, providing scientific information on a poorly-researched subject.
The meeting will be held at 7.30pm in the main hall of the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre, 22 Peel Terrace, Busselton.
The meeting is open to the public and attendance is free, although a gold coin donation to help cover meeting costs will always be appreciated.
