Marine Life excursion – Sunday February 24
The Club’s annual marine life around the Cape excursion is on Sunday February 24.
Depending upon the weather, we will snorkel north of Meelup, at Shelley Beach near Bunker Bay or in Yallingup Lagoon.
Meet 9.00am in the Dunsborough Tavern car park where the decision will be taken on which of the three possible snorkeling sites will be visited.
People should bring morning tea & possibly a picnic lunch.
Excursion leaders are highly experienced marine biologists and divers Ann Storrie and Sue Morrison who will pass on some of their extensive knowledge of the marine life of the Capes area.
The excursion is free of charge and is well suited to families, with lots of interesting marine life certain to be found and brought ashore for examination and explanation, prior to being returned to the water.
A limited amount of snorkeling equipment is available for people to use but snorkel, face mask and flippers are highly recommended to allow viewing of whichever of the three sites chosen to be properly explored.
Non-swimmers will still enjoy this excursion as many specimens of marine life will be available for viewing on shore.
