WALKS THROUGH THE BORANUP FOREST - SUNDAY NOVEMBER 20
With fire-affected parts of the Boranup forest now recovering well, the next excursion of the Busselton Naturalists Club on Sunday November 20 will explore this beautiful karri forest.
The Club usually holds an excursion in November somewhere cool and, although cool weather is forecast, this excursion will allow walkers to assess how well the karri forest and its understorey is recovering from last January’s fires.
Starting at the Boranup lookout, the morning walk is mostly downhill and will cover 8km after which we meet up with the bus for lunch.
The afternoon allows for a walk of between 4 and 8km, depending on people’s energy levels, ending at the Conto’s campground where the bus will be again waiting for us.
Subject to numbers, the bus will leave the carpark on Peel Terrace next to the former visitor centre, now the University of Central Queensland offices, at 9.00am sharp.
Pick-up can be made at Vasse opposite the general store.
Cost of the day is $15 to cover the hire of the bus.
Bring morning and afternoon teas, a picnic lunch and a folding chair.
Bookings are essential by email to email@example.com or by phone to 0408 944 242.
If less than 30 people advise of their intention to take part in this excursion, we’ll car pool from the Peel Terrace carpark.
The excursion is open to the public.
