WILDFLOWERS AND REPTILES - EXCURSION THIS COMING SUNDAY NOVEMBER 21
Although a bit late for wildflowers, this Sunday’s Busselton Naturalists Club excursion will focus on wildflowers.
Two properties owned by Ken Cuthbert, a farmer at Boallia south of Busselton, will be visited. Both carry an extensive area of native vegetation, one being a wetland area where access is only now possible.
The Club visited the dryland property last year and enjoyed finding a wide variety of wildflowers beneath the jarrah and marri trees.
This year, we’ll revisit this property as well as the wetter property nearby.
A BYO picnic lunch will then be scheduled for the Carbunup reserve.
After lunch, people who wish to visit the Discover Deadly reptile park will only be charged $10 per adult.
People not wishing to enjoy the reptile park will walk through the Carbunup Reserve and enjoy its diverse wildflowers.
A bus has been hired for the excursion and seats can be booked at $15 per adult and $5 per child. The bus will leave at 9.00am sharp from the carpark on Peel terrace next to the former visitors’ centre, now home to Central Queensland University.
Booking are essential as we need to have 30 passengers to justify the bus hire.
Seats can be booked by replying to this email of by phoning Club president Bernie Masters on 0408 944 242
The day is well suited to families with children so bring out your grandchildren to find the low-growing wildflowers and to learn about snakes and lizards at Discover Deadly..
