Upcoming Excursion

Long Weekend Camp – Dryandra Woodland National Park

Our first camp for 2026 will be at Dryandra Woodland National Park from Friday 17 April to Monday 20 April 2026.

This is an opportunity to explore one of Western Australia’s most significant conservation areas. Located approximately 30 km north of Narrogin, Dryandra comprises 17 woodland blocks totaling 28,000 hectares, including a 12,000-hectare main block. It protects the largest area of remnant vegetation in the western Wheatbelt and forms part of an internationally recognised biodiversity hotspot, with more than 850 plant species recorded.

The park’s wandoo woodlands, kwongan heath, mallee, sheoak thickets and brown mallet plantations provide habitat for an extraordinary range of fauna. Highlights include numbats (WA’s state fauna emblem), woylies, chuditch (western quoll), red-tailed phascogales, western grey kangaroos, tammar wallabies, brushtail possums, echidnas, reptiles and a rich diversity of birdlife. Birdwatchers may encounter Carnaby cockatoos, bush stone-curlews and rufous treecreepers among many others.

Special Activity

A night walk at Barna Mia Sanctuary is planned for Saturday 18 April — a great opportunity to see some of Dryandra’s threatened nocturnal mammals up close.  There are limited places for this activity, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to attend. Places will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

(This activity is now fully booked)
