Dr Angus Lawrie is a Research Fellow in the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at Curtin University. His research focuses on the ecology, monitoring and conservation of Western Australian wetlands, with a particular interest in developing innovative environmental DNA (eDNA) techniques to assess wetland health and biodiversity. His work aims to improve the way wetlands are monitored, providing scientists and land managers with better tools to detect environmental change and guide conservation efforts.

Dr Lawrie will explore the fascinating world of wetlands—their ecological importance, the diverse plants and animals they support, and the challenges of conserving these increasingly threatened ecosystems. His presentation will offer insights into both traditional wetland ecology and the latest advances in environmental monitoring.
