After lunch we will drive to the Vasse Diversion Bay OK Garden on the Water Corp reserve between Kip McGrath and the bridge on Bussell Hwy, (opposite the Busselton High School).
Lisa Massey the Project Office for Bay OK Gardens will talk about:
- How native gardens perform without water,
- Importance of soil amendments,
- Species selection,
- Why native gardens need to be nurtured, like any other garden,
- That native gardens can be simple, with a low number of species for maximum impact.
Issues will be discussed such as:
- The High St verge garden, and
- The Sensations Garden at Port Geographe.
This is a self drive excursion and car pooling is encouraged. It is open to the public so bring family and friends.
